Privacy Policy
Effective September 28, 2026
BJJ Sequence is operated by an independent developer. This policy explains what information the service handles, why it is needed, and the choices you have.
1. Information we handle
Account and authentication
Your email address, a one-way password hash if you set a password, email-verification status, Google account identifier if you use Google Sign-In, session identifiers, and account timestamps.
Your training content
Technique cards, routes, notes, tags, practice records, feedback, and photos or short media attached to cards. Full-length review videos in the current review prototype stay in your browser on your device and are not synced unless a future upload feature clearly tells you otherwise before upload.
Service and billing data
Anonymous or account-linked device identifiers, sign-in and activity timestamps, sync usage, plan status, and Paddle transaction or subscription identifiers. Paddle processes payment details; BJJ Sequence does not receive or store your full card number.
Technical information
IP addresses and basic request information may appear in short-lived security and server logs. We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal data.
2. Why we use it
- Provide accounts, authentication, backup and cross-device sync.
- Deliver subscriptions and keep access in step with billing status.
- Answer support requests and investigate errors or abuse.
- Understand basic activation and reliability using first-party service metrics.
- Meet legal, tax, fraud-prevention and security obligations.
Depending on where you live, these activities rely on performing our contract with you, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, consent where required, and legal obligations.
3. Local storage and cookies
The app uses browser storage such as IndexedDB and localStorage for offline use, preferences and your local training data. A strictly necessary session cookie keeps you signed in. We currently do not use advertising or cross-site marketing cookies.
4. Service providers and international processing
We use service providers only where needed to run BJJ Sequence: Google for optional sign-in, Resend for account email, Paddle as merchant of record for checkout and subscription administration, Cloudflare for DNS, security and email routing, and hosting and encrypted-backup providers for the application database. These providers may process data in the United States or other countries under their own privacy terms and applicable transfer safeguards.
If you use the microphone button to dictate a note, your browser sends the audio to its own speech-recognition service (Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari) under that company's privacy terms, and returns the text. BJJ Sequence never receives or stores the audio; only the text you choose to save is kept.
5. Retention and deletion
Account and synced training content are kept while your account is active. You can export a ZIP and delete your account inside the app. Deletion removes the active account copy, synced content, sessions, feedback, usage records and BJJ Sequence billing references. Encrypted disaster-recovery backups rotate out within 30 days and are not used for ordinary access. Paddle and other providers may retain transaction or security records when required by law.
6. Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with the providers above, when you ask us to, to protect the service and its users, or when lawfully required.
7. Your choices and rights
You may access and correct your account information, export your training data, delete your account, cancel a subscription, or ask about processing by emailing support@bjjsequence.com. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, request portability, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority.
8. Security
We use access controls, hashed passwords, secure sessions, encrypted HTTPS transport, limited administrative access, rate limits and encrypted backups. No online service can promise absolute security; please use a unique password and keep your device protected.
9. Adults only
BJJ Sequence is currently intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be communicated in the service or by email where appropriate. Questions and privacy requests: support@bjjsequence.com.
